Traceability tools for coffee professionals

From calibrated cupping sheets to seasonal harvest bulletins — documentation delivered from our Mile End studio. Updated 26 June 2026.

Cupping sheets

The BrewOrigin cupping sheet is a calibrated scoring template used across our 2026 origin lots. Each sheet includes blind sample coding fields, consensus descriptor columns, water specification notes, and roast reference slots. Roasters and importers receive PDF and editable formats with permission to cite scores in wholesale decks when attribution is preserved. Our Montreal panel aligns quarterly to maintain scoring consistency across harvest seasons.

Origin briefings

Origin briefings are 45-minute studio sessions or virtual presentations covering a single farm chapter — harvest timeline, processing method, producer context, and cupping consensus. Briefings include slide decks with field photography and export document summaries. Ideal for roaster sales teams preparing seasonal menu launches or barista trainers building origin education modules for café staff.

Brew-ratio guides

Each documented lot ships with a brew-ratio appendix tested on calibrated water at 150 ppm. Guides cover pour-over, batch brew, and espresso parameters with extraction yield targets and grind reference notes. We test ratios at our Saint-Laurent studio using Montreal water profiles remineralised to industry standard, so Canadian roasters receive locally relevant starting points rather than generic recommendations.

Seasonal updates

Quarterly seasonal updates revise harvest counters, cupping scores, and producer correspondence for active lots in the 2026 journal. Subscribers receive email bulletins with changelog summaries and updated PDF chapters. Updates reflect new picking rounds, moisture verification results, and any panel recalibration that shifts consensus descriptors.

Editorial collaboration

We partner with importers and roasters to co-author farm stories for marketing collateral, trade show panels, and training materials. Collaboration includes producer interview scheduling, photography review, and sensory glossary alignment. All co-branded content maintains BrewOrigin editorial standards and requires producer consent documentation on file.

Sensory glossary

Our sensory glossary standardises descriptor language across origin chapters and client deliverables. Entries define terms like structured acidity, panela sweetness, and raise-bed fermentation with cross-references to specific lots where the descriptor was panel-validated. Glossary access is included with cupping sheet packages and origin briefing bookings — ensuring teams speak about flavour with shared vocabulary.

Glossary entries are reviewed after each quarterly calibration so that evolving panel language — for example, when a lot shifts from "orange zest" to "blood orange" after a harvest revision — is reflected consistently across PDF chapters, briefing slides, and client-facing menu copy.
