Terms of Use
Effective date: 26 June 2026 · Last reviewed: 2026-06-26
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website breworigin.one (the "Site") operated by BrewOrigin Inc., a Quebec corporation with business number BN 840123456QC0001, having its studio at 3625 Boulevard Saint-Laurent Suite 520, Montreal, Quebec H2X 2V4, Canada ("BrewOrigin," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. About BrewOrigin
BrewOrigin is an editorial research studio documenting coffee farm histories, cupping notes, and origin traceability materials for specialty coffee professionals. We do not operate a restaurant, bakery, food delivery service, or wellness clinic. We do not sell roasted coffee or green coffee to consumers through the Site. Content on the Site is provided for informational and professional reference purposes.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least eighteen years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Site. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or the organisation you represent.
3. Permitted use
You may browse the Site, download publicly available origin chapter summaries for internal reference, and submit contact enquiries through the provided form. You may cite BrewOrigin cupping scores and origin documentation in wholesale decks, training materials, and menu copy provided you include attribution to BrewOrigin Inc. and the relevant lot identifier.
Prohibited uses include:
- Reproducing, scraping, or redistributing Site content for commercial resale without written permission;
- Removing copyright notices, lot badges, or attribution from downloaded materials;
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to our systems, contact form processing, or studio networks;
- Submitting false, misleading, or fraudulent contact form information;
- Using automated tools to overwhelm Site infrastructure or circumvent the honeypot spam filter;
- Misrepresenting BrewOrigin content as your own original research or implying endorsement without consent.
4. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including text, photographs, cupping sheets, lot badges, layout designs, logos, and the BrewOrigin name — is owned by BrewOrigin Inc. or used under licence. Content is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Limited licence: We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view Site content and download materials explicitly offered for client use (such as cupping sheets delivered under contract). This licence does not permit modification, sublicensing, or creation of derivative works except as agreed in a separate editorial collaboration agreement.
Producer photographs and interview excerpts remain subject to producer consent agreements. Your use of co-branded materials must comply with any additional restrictions specified in delivery documentation.
5. Professional services
Descriptions of services on the Site (cupping sheets, origin briefings, brew-ratio guides, seasonal updates, editorial collaboration, sensory glossary) are invitations to enquire rather than binding offers. A separate agreement or written confirmation is required before deliverables are produced. Pricing, timelines, and scope are established on a case-by-case basis.
Cupping scores and sensory descriptors represent panel consensus at the time of publication. Coffee is an agricultural product subject to natural variation; BrewOrigin does not guarantee that green coffee purchased independently will match documented profiles.
6. User submissions
When you submit information through our contact form, you represent that the content is accurate and that you have the right to share it. Farm story collaboration submissions must not infringe third-party rights or contain confidential information you are not authorised to disclose.
By submitting content for editorial collaboration, you grant BrewOrigin a licence to edit, format, and publish approved material with attribution as agreed in writing. We are not obligated to publish every submission.
7. Disclaimers
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
Origin chapters reflect field research and cupping analysis at documented dates. Harvest conditions, export logistics, and roasting variables may change outcomes in the cup. BrewOrigin is not responsible for purchasing decisions made based on Site content.
External links, if present, are provided for convenience. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BrewOrigin Inc., its directors, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Site shall not exceed one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100) or the amount you paid BrewOrigin for services in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Quebec or Canadian law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BrewOrigin Inc. from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of Site content, or infringement of third-party rights through submissions you provide.
10. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and process personal information under PIPEDA. Contact form submissions require explicit consent as described in that policy.
11. Cookies
We use cookies as described in our Cookie Policy. By continuing to use the Site after interacting with our cookie banner, you acknowledge our cookie practices as configured by your chosen preferences.
12. Modifications
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on the Site with a new effective date. Material changes will be indicated on this page. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We encourage periodic review of these Terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to BrewOrigin or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) shall survive.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Montreal, Quebec, for disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the parties' original intent.
16. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and BrewOrigin Inc. regarding use of the Site, superseding prior oral or written understandings on that subject. Separate written contracts govern paid editorial services and override conflicting Site descriptions where explicitly stated.
